This perch requires the Barrier Guard Cylinder Feeder Perch Attachment Kit (sold separately), if you wish to use it with the Erva Barrier Guard Seed Cylinder Feeder (CYFB1). 

The diameter of the assembled perch is 26.5". The perches extend 6" from the edge of the feeder.

This perch works great !

I originally wondered if this perch was too large or wouldn't be beneficial to the birds however, I'm really glad we ordered it. It was easy to install on our feeder, and a lot of the little birds seem to appreciate having a place to perch prior to diving into one of the open spaces in the grid around the feeder. Sometimes they seem to sit there and wait for a spot to open up inside the feeder. For the bigger birds, their weight starts the feeder to swing and tilt too much, and it tosses them off the perch. Pole mounting the feeder might be a different issue though. For our use this perch has worked out exactly as we had hoped.

Perch perfection!

My bluebirds LOVE this perch accessory that fits the barrier guard feeder. The instructional video on how to assemble the perch was extremely helpful. Also, the larger aluminum dish replacement unit is great for mealworms & holds plenty for my 4 soon-to-fledge bluebird babies.

The perch is a must!

From my own experience, I would advise anyone buying the Barrier Guard feeder to spend the extra money and buy the perch assembly. I found my Blues spent some time on them before deciding how to get into the feeder, and without them I don't think I'd have the great success that I did. Oh, and while you're at it buy the larger aluminum feed cup as well.
