Hawai'i Birding Trails: Palila Forest Discovery Trail Video

Mondays with Martha #242 - Hawai'i Birding Trails: Palila Forest Discovery Trail

Building off of last week's introduction to the Hawai'i Birding Trails, we visit the largest tract of dry forest remaining on the Big Island and hike the Palila Forest Discovery Trail on Mauna Kea's southwest slope. Learn about the ecology, threats, and restoration efforts to save the endemic honeycreepers, Palila and Hawai'i 'Amakihi, and the māmane forests upon which they depend.
