This week I share Hawai'i Birding Trails online resources and the landscape context of the kipuka traversed by the Pu'u Huluhulu Trail. Learn about the dry and temperate mixed forest on this cinder cone and the two dominant native tree species endemic to Hawai'i, koa (Acacia koa) and ohi'a-lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha). Special thanks to Emily Brines for recommending this trail!
