Help keep your bath clean and healthy with the purifying qualities of pure copper!

Chemical free all natural 4" diameter copper water purification disk is 99.9% pure American made copper. It’s designed to sit up off the floor of the bath with 3 “feet” to insure that the entire surface area of the disk is in contact with the bath water ensuring maximum benefit. The disk is made here in the USA with copper sourced from Revere Copper, Rome New York. Tarnished copper does not lose any of its beneficial qualities. Simply place in any bird bath for chemical free water purification.

The antimicrobial properties of copper surfaces are firmly established.                      Copper has been used since ancient times to disinfect and purify water. In modern times many scientific studies have proven that copper alloys possess excellent potential in controlling the spread of infectious diseases. In fact, after rigorous testing, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registered copper alloys as antimicrobial public health materials.

Importantly, research by the University of Southampton, UK, shows that copper can virtually eliminate the Influenza A virus within six hours of exposure. This is an especially important finding because a member of this virus family is the virulent Avian Flu strain.

In addition to eliminating bacteria and viruses, copper has also been proven to destroy mold and algae. Adding an Erva Anti-Microbial Bird Bath Disk to your bird baths will facilitate cleansing and contribute to the health and safety of your visiting birds by eliminating water-borne pathogens.

How It Works: The bactericidal activity of copper is mainly attributed to the release of ions, which are recognized by various microorganisms as an essential nutrient—and allowed to enter the cell. Once inside they affect the integrity of the membrane, generate intracellular oxidative stress and are genotoxic, meaning that the ions impede the cell from breathing, eating, digesting, or creating energy— resulting in the death of the microorganism. Antimicrobial copper continuously kills pathogens, even when tarnished.
Using this Disk in Winter: This disk can be used in a heated bird bath as long as the heating element is fully enclosed. If there is any exposed coil DO NOT USE this copper bird bath purification disk. An example of a enclosed heated bath dish can be seen here.

Important Note: Copper will effectively help to control the development of harmful elements, but regular visitors to your bath will constantly bring new contaminants. The Copper Disk is NOT a substitute for proper, regular cleaning!

Amazing!

This thing really works! I'm totally stunned. I've been fighting green gunk in my birdbath for years. It didn't matter if I washed it out every day with bleach, vinegar, special bird bath cleaners, or anything else. Fill with fresh water and the next day there is green scum all over the bottom of the bowl again. Winter was a bit less of a problem, but if the weather turned the least bit warm (and in recent years that happens quite frequently during the winter) the scum was back. I saw this advertised and hunted for them on many websites only to find they were always "Out of Stock." Found it here and thought I'd give it a try but not really expecting it to work and the green scum would win again. Well, it's been over a week now since I cleaned the bowl and placed this copper disk in. Fresh water added. I've been filling with fresh water every day and NO SCUM!!!!! I'm shocked, amazed, and VERY happy! Why didn't I find this 10 years ago? Don't hesitate to purchase this amazing copper disk. You won't regret losing the green scum that pervades the birdbaths of America!

Thank you for taking the time to review. We are so glad to hear that this product is working for you just as intended!

Amazing

I’ve tried a lot of things in my birdbaths and I can honestly say the disk works the best. I often had to change the water daily and sometimes more than once a day on really hot humid days but the disk really makes a difference. I recommend it highly.

It works!

I’ve had the copper disc for a week now. It has kept any algae from forming on all surfaces. The water is clear and fresh. It exceeded my expectations. It’s well worth having for the thirsty drinkers.

Why didn't I think of this sooner

I have on copper birdbath the rest are not. I never thought of adding something made of copper.
Sure beats cleaning a slimy birdbath.
On tiny birdbaths I just decided to throw some pennies in
