Found feeder I needed for goldfinch, house finches, nuthatch, downy woodpecker, pine siskins, bluebird, cardinal, blue Jay. Wanted to stop grackles from arriving en masse in my backyard. Worked. Not coming anymore. This feeder has weight control, so larger birds like grackle and squirrels weigh down, perch goes down and separate tray inside goes up, closes and grackles and squirrels can’t get food. This has all bells and whistles. Easy to fill, to clean, holds 4 cups, not refill as often, a tight lid keep rain out, separate shield to keep rain from food and birds eating dry, air flow thru feeder ports and top to keep food fresh and dry, free from moisture build up, a ribbed plastic ring to attach to perch, so cardinals and similar size birds can easily perch facing food and in freezing weather not slip from perch. Get this first time and warranty available if need replacing, but so well built , I don’t think I’ll ever need to replace.

So far I could not be happier with this feeder. It is brilliantly designed and constructed. Would highly recommend the Weather Guard be added as it protects both the feed ports from the elements, and the birds from being ambushed.
CONS: My only criticism is the size of the cardinal ring that I wish included an additional ring that is a half inch larger. If you are looking to attract birds larger than a cardinal this may not be the feeder for you.

I had my feeder for over 20+ years finally a racoon or bear broke it to pieces. The metal pole was laying flat on the ground and the feeder was broken into pieces. But for it lasting this many years without any problems is a giant plus. I will definitely put the feeder in at night now.

Good product. I have not gotten the cardinals to set on the ring yet. Hope it works for them.

I bought this because I was having a lot of wasted seed with the old feeders I had. I have this hanging on one of our parking lot light poles and really don't worry about the squirrels. There's no way they can get up that street light. The old feeders had plastic port restrictors that the birds finally chewed up to the point the seed was pouring out. I also bought the Squirrel Buster Classic and have it hanging on the same pole. I have a ton of Cardinals and they took to the feeders within a day. Well made and easy to fill and clean.

Exactly what I was looking for. The birds are able to continue feeding long after their platform feed is gone early in the morning & if the winter weather is too treacherous for me to walk the deck they still have plenty of feed. I love it!!

The squirrels must be thinking....I can see the seed......why is it I cannot get the seed from this feeder???? Heck with this, I am outta here!!!

Very well built feeder and the squirrels have completely failed in breaking in. The steel and glass construction should last many years. Very impressive.

This is my second one; I still have my first one. Just wanted another one. They're great feeders and worth every penny. Brome stands behind their products and have great instructional videos. They come apart very quickly and easily for cleaning; the first time was a little longer but the video is very helpful. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has squirrels.

We are enjoying watching the birds enjoying our Squirrel Buster Plus. The squirrels truly cannot get onto this feeder! Very good product.

Regrettably, the screw on the bottom came loose and almost decapitated a house finch. Poor thing was found dead with its head stuck inside. Other than that incident I have had no problems. Definitely keeps the squirrels from dumping the whole feeder.

This is a great bird feeder that is squirrel proof,
It is very sturdy and holds a lot of seed so you don’t have to refill every day. Very pleased with this purchase!
