Truly squirrel proof! Effective against adult Red and Gray Squirrels, and some large nuisance birds. The Squirrel Buster Nut Feeder is designed with a large tail prop allowing woodpeckers to feed comfortably, using their tails for support and balance, just like they do on trees.
Mess free! The wire mesh holding the shelled peanuts or wild bird food nuggets is calibrated, so birds cannot simply sweep the food out of the feeder. Ideal for decks, condos, and apartments. Peanuts are an incredibly popular food at feeders and will attract a great variety of birds. Holds 3/4 quarts (~1.3 lbs capacity).

Here are some things to check/implement with your Squirrel Buster Nut Feeder to make it truly squirrel-proof for adult red and gray squirrels (please note that juvenile red squirrels and chipmunks can sometimes access feed due to their light weight):
1) Observe the manufacturer's stated installation clearances, e.g. install the feeder with 18" of clearance between top of feeder and the branch it is hanging on, 18" of clearance from launching points below the feeder, and 18" radius of clearance around the sides of the feeder;
2) Don't exceed the maximum level of feed as indicated by the bottom of the yellow center post cap, otherwise the shroud will not be able to close properly;
3) Make sure the negative grip tube is in place on the hanging wire right against the top of the feeder to prevent squirrels from hanging by their hind legs from the wire.
DISCLAIMER: This feeder will NOT deter Grackles, Starlings, juvenile Red/Douglas/Flying Squirrels, Chipmunks, Possums, Bears, Deer, or Raccoons. Please bring your feeder in at night to prevent night visitors from emptying and destroying your feeder.
