Stoneware pieces are individually handmade using actual materials from native plants; in this case Common Winterberry (Ilex verticillata), that the artist collects herself (many from her own garden). Each piece is then bisque-fired, glazed, high-fired, and finished by the artist personally, making each one a unique work of art.
