This mess-free seed log is great for use near patios and sidewalks!  Avoid use in areas directly accessible to dogs due to raisins.  Please note the recipe has changed slightly and now includes chopped tree nuts.  New photos coming soon...

Cylinder is hollow down the center for use with seed cylinder/seed log feeders.

These have become my go to cylinders for my woodpecker population. Pretty solid and holding up well. I hang them on a simple post style cylinder feeder, under a rain cover/squirrel baffle. Any brand cylinder that's getting wet constantly will fall apart. A couple tweaks to the setup and the cylinder will last a long time. I added a mesh cage slightly bigger than the cylinder and I top it off with an old CD. Everyone gets a meal but they don't destroy the cylinder by parking on top and gorging or clinging right to the side of the food and gradually pulling it apart. The clinging birds seem to like the extra stability. I cut in a couple openings for the cardinals who also like them. The squirrels haven't been on it yet but the added cage should limit the damage they do while woodpeckers and nuthatches are on it regularly.
