NutraSaff, also known as golden safflower, is a safflower hybrid specifically developed for bird feeding to have a thinner hull (40% thinner) and higher levels of oil (15% more), protein (25% more), and fat (30% more) than traditional white safflower. It's easier and healthier for your birds to eat, and studies show that birds prefer it 2 to 1 over traditional safflower!  It also tends to deter squirrels, grackles, and starlings with its bitter taste, although some individuals may adapt and eat it with time or in desperation.

Attracts: Cardinals, Jays, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Grosbeaks, Titmice, Doves, Finches (House, Purple), Downy Woodpeckers, and Chipmunks; occasionally House Sparrows

Safflower eating birds love it!

I've never seen my safflower eating birds gobble up it up with such gusto! Usually my birds prefer sunflower chips, but the house finches and cardinals seem to like the nutrasaff better. Only four stars because I cannot confirm if squirrels and blackbirds leave it alone; chipmunks will still eat nutrasaff the same as they eat normal safflower.
