The back of the hepatica card reads: "Hepatica acutiloba is a spring wildflower native to the deciduous woodlands of eastern North America. The flowers, which range from white to purple to pink, bloom earlier than most other woodland flowers. The purple and green patterned leaves last throughout the winter under snow and are often the first sign of these early wildflowers. Native plants, like sharp-lobed hepatica, support wildlife habitat and promote biodiversity."
