The old method of making nectar is simple but time-consuming and messy. You basically take 1 part sugar and add 4 parts water, bring to boil, stir without splashing, and then let it cool for at least and hour. Finally pour your pot of nectar into the feeder without spilling any.

This shaker is the fastest, easiest, and cleanest way to make hummingbird nectar. Simply fill the sugar to the sugar line, then the room temperature water to the water line, and shake for 30 seconds. Perfect nectar from start to finish in under 1 minute.
