New base

The new base never leaks. The first one never stopped leaking. Thank you so much for exchanging the leaky base!

Is the opening for the jar 3” wide? (Which would fit my vintage wide mouth jar hummingbird feeder.)

The base of this feeder is less than 2.5" wide. The threading on the jar is only made to work with the Dr. JBs Hummingbird Feeder bases:

Will this base fit on my existing mason jar?

Probably not. It's designed only to fit the Dr. JB 16 oz Clean Feeder jar.

Will this bottom fit a regular mason jar? My mason jar feeder has a metal bottom which is NOT safe for the birds so I need to replace with a plastic bottom.

This base is designed to fit the screw in Dr. JB glass and switchable larger volume plastic jars that have 2 3/8" wide mouths. We accept returns of items in new condition but will deduct the shipping costs from your refund. If you have Dr. JB feeders, then this replacement base will work. Hope this helps!
