Lake Sturgeon Reintroduction Saginaw Bay Restoration Video

Mondays with Martha #174 - Lake Sturgeon Reintroduction Saginaw Bay Restoration

This week I discuss an ancient and once common fish species in Michigan, lake sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens). Now listed as state threatened due to habitat loss, pollution, overharvesting, and invasive species, numerous partners are coming together to restore lake sturgeon habitat and reintroduce reared young into historically occupied watersheds. Enjoy scenes from a release event into the Tittabawassee River as part of the Saginaw Bay Sturgeon Restoration Project.
