Growing Season Finale - Last Native Plant Sale for 2021

Welcome to the information page for our last native plant sale for the 2021 growing season! Let's take advantage of the end of the growing season and make a final push for our pollinators! The end of summer is a great time to plant native vegetation. Temperatures generally decrease while precipitation increases, yielding a month or more of prime growing conditions for plants to settle in and expand their root systems.

Do your site preparation now and get ready to add diverse host, nectar, food, and cover plant species to your yards and gardens.  Let's be habitat heroes and provide the pollinators and other wildlife in our landscapes with the native plants they need to thrive!  After all, who doesn't enjoy a little backyard wildlife drama?! 

We are very excited to be bringing in several species of milkweed, fall blooming species like asters and goldenrods, shrubs, and other favorite species that were not available earlier this year. Selected especially for the Midland area, the sale will feature over 60 species of native wildflowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees that provide quality habitat for our native pollinators, birds, and other wildlife species.  These native plants are of Michigan or Great Lakes Region genotype and were procured through Wildtype Native Plant Nursery in Mason, Michigan. The table below outlines the species we plan to offer and where best to plant them. 

Native plants provide better wildlife habitat and make a greater visual impact when planted in multiples.  We will again be offering a 5% discount when purchasing 6 or more plants!  

The sale will run Friday August 27th through Saturday September 4th.  We will not be open Sunday August 29th.  The sale will occur at our retail location at 2004 W. Wackerly St. Midland, MI and will be held outside along the east side of our building.  We are offering payment by credit card outside, if desired.  We look forward to seeing you soon!
