These replacement bamboo tubes are designed for use with the cute Bee and Insect Hotel by Songbird Essentials (sold separately). It's important to replace the tubes in your hotel each spring to help prevent and minimize disease and parasite problems.

About our Native Bees: 
Our native bees pose very little threat of stinging--only if trapped or squeezed--and are excellent pollinators of fruit trees, almonds, and other fruit-bearing plants like blueberries, raspberries, an strawberries.  Other beneficial insects like ladybugs help reduce plant harming insects like aphids without the need to use harmful insecticides.

FYI, Length of tube is too short for bees

Bee lovers beware.. I am not sure what the width dimensions are for these reeds... but I do know the Bees want more length for tubes than what they are providing here, mason bees should have 6+inches of length at 8mm width, leaf cutter bees want 6mm width. The reason for the 6+ inches, they lay the female egg in the back, possibly 2, then lay male egg. if it is shorter than 6 inches, they will only lay males... I just thought I would let you know. if you use paper inserts, they would be able to clean the reeds and reuse them. probably perfect for other bugs/insects...
