I used zip ties to attach the grid to the hanging feeding tray. It took a couple of weeks till the birds decided to try out this new contraption but all are happy campers. No doves, no crows.

Love this dove guard!!

We had 6 and 7 doves trying to get on our tray at the same time. They were eating all the food within an hour or two. This dove guard has been great! We have laughed watching the doves land on it and try to figure out how to get to the food. They can’t do it!!! Our food is lasting much longer now and all our other birds are enjoying it just fine….cardinals, titmice, chickadees, nuthatches, warblers!

Doves can sit but can't get in!!

Love this cage for the 12X12 feeder!! Allows our cardinals and smaller birds in while doves sit and stare longingly inside!!

The title clearly describes what the guard is for

It does what it says it does! Some Mourning Doves still come around in the hope that some miracle happened and they can get to the seeds. But to their disappointment....the situation is still: a NO GO! I am very pleased with the purchase!! I added a rain guard and the birds still come without fear for the new addition.

Works Great!!

This works great for keeping the dove from eating my safflower seed. After hanging the tray feeder with guard on it, a House Finch came within about 15 minutes. It looked things over and within a couple of minutes it was inside eating. I looked out about an hour later and a male Cardinal was inside with a finch. So no issues with the birds being reluctant to use the feeder with the guard. I have had House Finches, Chickadees, and Cardinals using it. I even saw a Mockingbird inside it yesterday. Looked like a tight fit but it had gotten in and later got out. I have seen two White-winged dove on the top of the guard at one time without any issues. That said, I doubt it would keep squirrels out, so using it with sunflower seed might not work well. No complaints at all.
