A spicy mix formulated specifically for feeding wild birds but not mammals.  Squirrels, chipmunks, and other mammals may avoid the spicy mix, because the active ingredient in hot peppers, capsaicin, irritates their mouths making them less likely to eat the feed. Birds don’t react to capsaicin the way mammals do, so it does them no harm.

Made with chili peppers, a strong irritant. Keep out of reach of children and pets! Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and skin. Wash hands thoroughly after using.

Attracts: Cardinals, Grosbeaks, Chickadees, Titmice, Nuthatches, Finches, Sparrows, Blackbirds, Jays, Woodpeckers, Doves, Siskins

INGREDIENTS

Coarse Sunflower Chips, Safflower Seeds, Rendered Beef Suet, Roasted Peanuts, Raisins, Corn, Oats, Cayenne Pepper

Finally something that works!

I could not keep squirrels away from my birds feeders and I tried everything I was told to try.as a last resort I tried this hot chili pepper seed works! I can hand my feeder in trees and the squirrels won’t touch it! One bite and that’s all it takes!

Hot Pepper Mix

We love the hot pepper mix! Just as you told us, the squirrels want nothing to do with it. Perfect!

Hot Pepper

I love it. I use just a little in the feeder trays at night to keep the deer away.

Seems to Work

Let the squirrels have a taste and they don't come back. it works. Birds seem to eat it, but not as much as "regular" seed from NN.

Hot Pepper Seed

This seed is not what I was expecting. It's no more than seed with the pepper sprinkled in the bags. What I'm accustomed to with hot pepper seed is that the seed is completely coated.

Thanks for your feedback. I checked with the manufacturer, and they do mix oil in with the pepper powder mixture to coat the seed mix before it is bagged, so the pepper isn't just poured inside the bag directly. Sometimes bags at the end of a mixing batch do have some excess pepper powder, though. Just know the seed is thoroughly coated with the pepper mixture.
