Oasis Recycled Bird Feeder with Dove Guard

The dove guard works as advertised, feeder easily pays for it self with the savings in seed. The cardinals are slow to get use to it but everyone else has quickly figured it out.

I originally hung this feeder farther away from the house and the 1st or 2nd day I saw a Cardinal in it. Now it is winter, and I brought the feeder up closer to the house. I am retired so I go out to my feeders every day (sometimes twice) to put in seed. I took out the 2 plexi walls that most would use to put the seed in hopper style. I sprinkle seed on the floor of both sides of this feeder only having to lift one side of the roof each time I put seed in. This morning it was in the low 20's in east Texas and this feeder must have had 10-15 or more little birds in it (finches, titmouse, chickadees.) I have seen eastern bluebirds in this feeder as well. It's also common when the feeder is not experiencing a rush hour, to see a house finch inside resting. Larger birds can hang on the side and stick their beaks in for a few bites but I try to give them cheaper easier food to eat elsewhere, and they no longer bother. This feeder is easy to clean and the drainage in the floor helps when it is left out in a rain. The only downside is that this feeder is a heavier feeder but that also means it doesn't blow as easily in the wind and it is more stable. I am happy with this purchase and if I get to a point where I need another feeder, this one would be my first choice.

Doves had taken over my platform feeder and were keeping smaller birds from access. I was refilling daily, the doves were eating me out of the bird feeding hobby. Sometime we had 15 doves crowding every other bird out. I searched for dove proof feeder and luckily found this one. It Works! No more doves and all birds from Cardinals size on down love this feeder. I am now refilling once a week instead of daily. It’s rather expensive to buy this feeder but it will pay back in lower cost of food. I would highly recommend.

This feeder by far is the best investment in bird feeder’s I’ve ever made.
I bought so many feeders attempting to keep the Doves from consuming everything (2-3 lbs) in one day and previous feeders were empty daily. No other birds were able to get anything due to them hanging out on it all day.
This feeder solved the problem!
It took about a week and a half for the Cardinals to get the hang of it and climb right in, and of course the Blue Jays figured out how to hang from outside and grab a bite or two then fly off.
I haven’t had to fill my feeder for 2 weeks!

We and the birds love this Bird Cafe Buffet! It seems the birds can always find a shady eating place in it because of the ample top. Some of the cardinals stay a very long time in it because the feeder protects them from larger birds that scare them. Our doves have not looked at it. Thank you for making such a wonderful product!
